Surprise and support

Vidor native and Marine Cpl. Austin Womack, 22, accepts a certificate of appreciation from Marine Vietnam veteran Louis Stanley on behalf of the Patriot Guard Riders of Beaumont. The Vidor High graduate was surprised by family, friends, PGR members and members of Vietnam Veterans Chapter 292. Womack will depart to Iraq in March. Beaumont's Acapulco restaurant and Womack's aunt, Sandra Womack, hosted the reception. Sandra Womack is also a member of the Patriot Guard Riders. OCN/Courtesy photo
